Success
Sergei Parfyonov from the Nenets boarding school has been nicknamed Figaro because he can often be seen in several places at once. He is the director of the school radio, an actor of the Nenets Ilebtz Theater, a vocalist with a music band, and a faithful helper of his teachers. Recently his personal portfolio received two new additions: the IDEA Certificate in Presentation Fundamentals and a special First Creative Success award from the Congr@ts contest for original greetings.
Overview
From the start of the IDEA training Sergei became an invaluable helper for Irina Kotkina, the IDEA Center instructor. He diligently studied theory fundamentals, did all his practical assignments and helped prepare the Center’s computer workstations before each session. Participation in IDEA Project’s Congr@ts Contest for original greetings drove him to deeper study of MS PowerPoint, since contest submissions had to be truly original, visually appealing and fun. Sergei tried out several ideas, creating a number of PowerPoint greeting cards: “Congratulations! You’ve Learned to Read!” “Happy Animal Liberation Day!” and “Happy Deer Day!” He was one of the first to submit his project to the contest and then began helping other trainees, explaining to them some of the subtleties of working with MS PowerPoint. He also posted his comments on other people’s entries on the contest’s forum and, as the result, made friends with one of the contestants and started exchanging regular e-mails with her.
Sergei believes that his success is the logical result of dedicated hard work in mastering IT technologies and wants to go on and take other, more advanced computer training courses at the IDEA Center.
On December 25 Sergei is flying to Moscow where he will represent the Nenets boarding school at the great New Year show in the State Kremlin Palace – the honor reserved only for the very best students, of which Sergei is definitely one. For him the IDEA course in Computer Fundamentals has become yet another step towards success, and we sincerely wish him health and happiness in the New Year and hope that all his dreams will come true!
