Results of a Three Year Partnership: Very Impressive!
Success
A. M. Gorky regional library in Perm received an official letter of appreciation from the local Employment Center. In this letter the Center’s director Anatoly Samarin expressed his appreciation to the staff team of the library’s IDEA Center for their efforts in providing digital literacy training for the Center’s clients, emphasizing the professional excellence of IDEA instructors and reviewing the results of the three-year partnership.
Overview
According to the letter, the eighty-six Computer Fundamentals alumni, referred to the IDEA Center by the Employment Center in 2007 – 2009, were people of different professional and education backgrounds. All of them, however, were impressed with the high quality of the training and said that the ICT competence they had received during the training was sufficient for them to master other computer applications on their own. More than 25% of these IDEA alumni found computer-related jobs as managers, medical registrars, office workers and engineers.
According to Anatoly Samarin, all this shows that the IDEA Project has successfully achieved its goals, and developing and promoting similar projects is very important for the Russian society.
