Galina Parygina: “Thank You for the Opportunity to Work!”
Success
Since completing her computer training in 2006, Galina Parygina, one of the first IDEA alumni, has become a certified public accountant and now works with the Chita regional society for people with disabilities. She recalls her IDEA training with warmth and appreciation. Computer skills training proved to be a powerful stimulus for continuing her education and then landing a good job.
Overview
Despite her motor disabilities, Galina Parygina was one of the first people to sign up for training courses at the IDEA Center in Chita back in June 2006. Even though she had a hard time walking up three floors to the IDEA Center on her crutches, her fellow-trainees always helped her and she successfully completed the course. Equipped with basic computer skills, Galina went on to take accounting courses and in time began working as an accountant with the regional society for people with disabilities.
“I never thought I would be able to find work, and there would be someone willing to hire me,” says the alumna. “But I quickly realized that learning new things gives new zest to life. I am very grateful to the IDEA Project for equipping me with ICT skills and changing my life by helping me learn a new profession and find a job. I often warmly recall my IDEA training and always recommend IDEA courses to those who come to the society for people with disabilities.”
