IDEA Training Brings New Hope
Success
After many years of working at Trusovsky bread factory, Nurslu Amirova from Astrakhan had to leave her job due to illness and consequent disability. It was a major blow to her as a single mother. However the training at her local IDEA Center enabled Nurslu Amirova to post her résumé online and find suitable employment.
Overview
Wishing to help Nurslu in her difficulty, her next door neighbor, herself a recent IDEA alumna, told her about the IDEA Center of Astrakhan Retraining Institute and recommended her to take a computer literacy course. Nurslu was excited about this opportunity to gain ICT skills and possibly find employment in a new field. She took Microsoft Unlimited Potential courses in Computer Fundamentals and Internet and World Wide Web Fundamentals, and now daily uses her new computer and Internet skills. She has registered a personal e-mail account, posted her résumé online, and her circle of friends and acquaintances has significantly expanded.
Within two weeks after completing her IDEA training she was invited to a job interview with the Tinaki Rehabilitation Center and successfully passed it, securing a permanent full-time job. In all the previous years she had to wake up at the crack of dawn because the bread factory where she worked is located in another part of town. Now to get to work she walks less that half a mile from her home. “Believe in yourself, believe in your abilities, and success is sure to follow,” says the alumna.
