Marina Cheputnykh: New Competence Means Better Income!
Success
In 2009 Marina Chepurnykh, along with several other job seekers from Perm, took several Microsoft Unlimited Potential courses at the local IDEA Center. Thanks to her newly acquired computer proficiency, she has been able to amend her income by publishing articles and materials online.
Overview
Marina Chepurnykh is a certified arts and crafts trainer. Her embroidery and lace designs are frequently exhibited at various contests and festivals, including the annual City of Craftsmen exhibition, and enjoy well-deserved popularity with participants and visitors. Until 2008 Marina led an arts and crafts club at the local children’s recreation center, but after the center closed she found herself out of work.
Until recently needlework remained the only source of her small but steady income. But now, after acquiring good e-mail and Internet skills at the Perm IDEA Center, Marina has found ways to make some extra money by selling her original designs to specialized arts and crafts websites. In the nearest future the alumna is planning to take up professional photography and graphic design hoping to display her artwork online for all interested users.
