Computer Becomes an Indispensable Helper
Success
Lubov Turbina works as the Chairperson of a housing cooperative in Vladimir. Recently she decided to take computer training and acquire sufficient IT skills for processing routine paperwork and keeping financial records and was able to gain good proficiency in working with text documents and electronic spreadsheets at the IDEA Center of M. Gorky regional library.
Overview
Despite her advanced age, Lubov Turbina continues to work as the Chairperson of a housing cooperative in Vladimir. Before now she never used the computer, making all calculations herself and submitting reports in longhand. However recently she began to find the volume of paperwork and regular financial records too overwhelming, and decided that it was time to make use of modern technologies.
With this in mind, she came to the IDEA Center of M. Gorky regional library and successfully completed Microsoft Unlimited Potential courses in Computer Fundamentals and Word Processing Fundamentals. Now Lubov Turbina uses her new skills to create and format agreements, official statements, business letters and reports. Not only did her new proficiency make the alumna’s work much less labor and time consuming, but it also earned her new respect in the eyes of her peers and assured her afresh that many things are possible for someone with a purpose and strong determination to achieve her goals.
