Labor Legislation Review for Job Seekers in Chelyabinsk
IDEA alumni from Chelyabinsk attended a special seminar for job seekers facilitated by workers of the regional library’s Legal Center, looking at a wide range of issues from the situation on the labor market and current challenges of unemployment to ways of increasing employability and regulating relationships between employees and employers.
Librarian Irina Fadeyeva made a review of current RF labor legislation, presenting a number of online legal search engines and drawing special attention to such legal reference systems as Consultant Plus, Garant and TechExpert as well as Consultant Plus Region for local labor legislation in the Urals and Chelyabinsk region. She then presented a review of available vacancies collected from newspapers Last Minute Vacancies and Vacancies, and introduced the seminar participants to collections of employment-related materials on various topics including “Rights and Responsibilities of Job Seekers,” “Welfare Benefits,” “Firing and Downsizing Procedures,” etc.
The seminar concluded with the master class “Writing a Résumé: Practical Tips” where librarian Elena Rasshivalova talked about goals, objectives, basic structure and main aspects of an effective résumé. The training will give the alumni a better understanding of the existing RF labor legislation, equip them with effective job search skills, and help many of them keep their current jobs.
