Vocational Rehabilitation Center (VRC) was launched in 1996 under the international social project of St. Petersburg municipal administration and Germany’s Federal Ministry of Labor and Social Policy. The main focus of the Center is vocational rehabilitation of people with disabilities and their integration into the mainstream society. Such vocational rehabilitation includes career guidance, state-licensed vocational training adapted for the disabled, assistance in finding employment, and workplace adaptation accompanied by medical, social and psychological rehabilitation.

Vocational Rehabilitation Center is a multi-profile vocational and educational rehabilitation institution licensed to carry out medical, social and psychological rehabilitation of the disabled and providing them with vocational training in seven different trades both at the elementary and secondary education level. The Center employs modern educational and rehabilitation technologies, specialized equipment, specially designed instructional methods and materials thus creating the optimal environment for rehabilitation and effective training for each disabled person. Over the last ten years, the Center has provided vocational rehabilitation for more than 1,500 disabled individuals, aged 18-50, with the 65 – 70% rate of post-rehabilitation employment. The Vocational Rehabilitation Center is very popular among the disabled, since here they significantly increase their ability on a competitive labor market and receive an excellent opportunity for self-actualization and integration into the mainstream society.
