Lermontov Stavropol State Regional Academic Library is not only the largest book depository in the region, but also a modern cultural institute with problems, achievements, unsolved questions, aspiring to be interesting and useful to citizens of the city and the region. The library boasts over 1.100.000 copies of books, periodicals, notes, phonograph records, CD, DVD, VHS and other media. Annually the library is visited by more than 40 thousand readers which use extensive diversified fund of the main book depository and special funds of departments.

In July 2002, the department of non-paper media launched its internet center, which offers free access to Internet to the library patrons and conducts trainings and seminars on Internet technologies.

In April 2006, the Center joined the IDEA network. Within the IDEA project the center provides Microsoft Unlimited Potential training courses, capacity-building workshops and free internet access to socially disadvantaged residents of Stavropol.

Every year about one thousand readers of the library visit the Internet Center more than 7 thousand times and get over 7 thousand hours of access to Internet .
