Neryungri centralized library system joined the IDEA project in 2008.
The system was established in 1980 as a comprehensive information and culture network and currently includes the Neryungri central city library and ten of its branches, providing services to more than 36,000 users annually.
In the last several years the library has fully integrated into the shared information space of the Sakha Republic and Russia, earning the status of a leading library for its outstanding achievements in organizing library services – there are only four such libraries out of 526 in the republic. In 1996 the director of the Neryungri central city library represented the Sakha Republic delegation at the 62nd International Conference of IFLA (The International Federation of Library Associations and Institutions). The library has also won several prestigious national and republican awards. |
